About Me


Moses Kgosana is a corporate leader with business experience that spans over three decades. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession who holds Hons BCompt, CA (SA) from UNISA and an Executive Development Programme from GIBS.

 

Kgosana has 34 years of Accounting, Auditing and Advisory experience within the Public and Private Sectors.

 

His entrepreneurial drive led to him being the founding member of KMMT Chartered Accountants which was one of the first black owned accounting firm of its size in 1993, before it merged with KPMG in 2002.

 

He later became the CEO of KPMG South Africa and Chairman of KPMG Africa in 2007 and was on the Board of KPMG International until February 2015. Over the years, Kgosana has been an inspirational figure in the accounting profession and the corporate at large. He served on the Board of SAICA, PAAB (currently known as IRBA). He was chairman of Accounting practice board (APB) for five years, was a member of IFRS advisory council of the International Accounting Standard Board (IASB). He was a trustee of Thuthuka bursary fund and former President of the Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants in Southern Africa (ABASA). He was a part time mathematics and science teacher at a high school in his home village. He continued to be a voluntary part time accounting and auditing lecture for UNISA students in 1986 to 1987 in Johannesburg.

 

Currently he is on the Board of Directors of Phembani Group, MOGS (Pty) Ltd and Clinix Group and Nelson Mandela Children Hospital – he was also a Non-Executive Director at Alexander Forbes, Imperial Holdings, Massmart Holdings, Transaction Capital, Famous Brands and AECI.

 

Moses is a keen golfer and part time cattle, sheep and goats farmer in Bronkhorspruit which he enjoys visiting regularly.
